The PERKS tab of the Goals panel sells fourteen permanent buffs for ✨ — the currency that wishes and tasks pay out. Each perk is a one-time buy with a lifelong effect: the cheap end slows a need's drain, the expensive end bends work, skills, prices and even jail time. Unlike skills, perks never decay.

What are perks in Lagos Life?
Perks are permanent one-time buffs sold in the PERKS tab of the Goals panel, paid for with ✨ — the currency wishes and tasks pay. A perk never expires and never decays, unlike skills. The shop carries fourteen: six slow a need's drain, the rest boost work performance, skill growth, social odds, sleep and even cut jail time.
How do you earn ✨ for perks?
WISHES in the same Goals panel pay +1 to +4 ✨ each — find the library bookshelf (+4), buy something for your home (+2), watch TV (+1) — and tasks and story rewards top up the balance. The cheapest perk, Steel Bladder, costs 6 ✨: about two good wishes in.
Which perk should you buy first?
Price says start small: the six need-drain perks run 6–16 ✨ and stretch every meter the game makes you refill — Steel Bladder (6) is the floor, with Early Bird, Iron Belle and Never Dull at 8 each. Which one pays off fastest depends on how you play: run a normal day through the Daily Optimizer and buy for whichever need keeps interrupting you. If you shop heavily, Connected (10) pays for itself in Buy mode — everything costs 10% less.
