Lagos Life Furniture Guide: Catalogue Tabs, TV Channels and What Items Do

Furniture looks like the most cosmetic system in Lagos Life — right up until you tap the TV and find six free channels that restore Fun, train skills and never cost a naira. This guide walks the whole Buy catalogue, the placement controls, and the rules about what happens to your things when you move.

How buying and placing works

Open Buy from the bottom bar (works inside your home), pick a tab, and tap an item to enter placement mode:

• Move with drag or arrow keys, rotate with R, place with Enter — Esc cancels.
• The buttons are Place and Place + 1 more (buy several in a row).
• Prices charge immediately; the daily tasks rotate a “Buy something new” goal that a single placement completes for +₦1,000 and +1✨.

The catalogue is a fixed list — unlike the Boutique stock, the same items are there every time you open it.

Our full catalogue count on 15 October ran to 108 items across nine tabs (every price is in the furniture database). The live game has since grown to eleven tabs — the new arrivals are Pets and Luxury:

The TV is the first furniture that really matters

Tap a placed TV and it opens a channel panel. All six channels are free, each runs seconds, and each carries its own stat tags:

Read that table again if you skimmed it: Evening News trains Charisma and the Cooking Show trains Cooking — skill XP from your own living room, free. And because Fun is the most expensive need to buy in this game (Pepper Soup runs ₦400 a bowl), a furniture item that refunds it for free changes the daily budget.

One string to note: the panel is labelled “Needs light” — keep a lamp in the room.

Pets and the ₦9 billion ceiling

The Pets tab sells Mimi the Cat (₦15,000), Bingo the Local Dog (₦25,000) and an African Grey Parrot (₦45,000) — companions first; whatever buff they carry is not yet measured.

The Luxury tab is the top of the food chain: a Diamond-Studded Throne at ₦250m, a Gold Bullion Vault at ₦500m, a Superyacht at ₦1.5bn — and the Heavy Jet at ₦9,000,000,000, listed with “+₦120m a week”. The mid Private Jet (₦3bn) shows “+₦40m a week” and the Light Jet (₦1.2bn) “+₦15m a week”, so the whalers’ toys advertise income alongside price, more like rental property than furniture.

Moving, storage and ownership

The Houses app states the rules on the move screen:

• Same-city moves take your furniture with you — “Found a better place in Lagos? Pay the landlord and the agent, and your furniture there moves with you.”
• Cross-city homes are separate slots — an Abuja or Port Harcourt home does not touch your Lagos furniture (see homes across three cities).
• Only an owned home can be extended — the app’s banner is explicit: “Buy it first: only a home you own can be extended.” Placing furniture in a rental is fine; rebuilding it is not. The rent vs buy calculator prices that decision.
• Furniture that does not fit a new home goes to free storage (Buy → Storage) — community-documented, consistent with everything we have observed in-game.
